autumn has come!

i've never lived in a town where i can watch the leaves change color.. i have always had to experience that through visits to family, packages with some crispy leaves inside, or books. so it's been lovely enjoying the changing of the seasons here in germany. we thought we'd share some photos of our surroundings...

a view of our new hometown, schriesheim, from the train stop:

the vines that cling everywhere are changing to red:

the outside of our home & both views of our street:

(our home is very old -- pastor chriss said that it dates back to 1760 & has some cool history from the time of WWII.. in short, the family that lived in our home was jewish, and when they were no longer allowed to shop at the grocery stores in town, the family that owned the bakery two doors down from us - that we love - would leave a loaf of bread on their windowsill every day. the jewish family eventually immigrated to the states, but the bakery is still run and owned by the same family)

a view from the window of our deutsch classroom & the local cafe:

they decorated the fountain for fall:

we love you all!

i try to get as many pictures on here as possible, but for more you can check out our flickr photo account: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mccalebbs/

blessings! more to come soon!
